Flipped classroom for learning clinical examination

Abstract: Introduction: Flipped Classroom (FC) is an Active Learning Methodology characterized by the sending of teaching materials to students in advance, so that classroom moment entirely dedicated non-expository activities. The FC was implemented 2019 for Clinical Examination (CE) aimed at undergraduate medical a Higher Education Institution Northeast region Brazil. Objective: To analyze implementation CE learning compared mini-exposure methodology followed practice. Method: Analysis educational intervention with historical control over carried out three phases. In first, two tutors involved or who acted as teachers were evaluated through semi-structured interview about process and its initial operation. second consisted assessment 44 students, Likert questionnaire, on new methodology. third evaluating grades obtained 66 experienced relation 142 previous Result: knew little before it believe promoted gains, such students’ greater dedication individual study. difficulty arose from creation extensive database questions pre-test, which beginning in-person moments. reported being well adapted agree benefits FC, including: feeling stimulated study, developing practice more easily presence pre-tests help improve results comparison showed significant increase performance when comparing (9,11 - SD 0,45) those (8,49 0,91). Conclusion: satisfactorily implemented, gains optimized time be practical learning.
